The deadbolt is a higher grade bolt with an integrated striker plate. The exterior cylinder housing is cast out of solid metal and come with large shields to protect against "ice pick attacks". The exterior housing is independently retained by 2 extra heavy duty screws which mount to an interior reinforcement plate to prevent the against "hammer attacks".

This Hardware may require some modifications to your current door!!!

***This lock requires a hole that is 2-1/8" through the door.

***This Lock requires a relief to be chiseled off the side of the door to make room for the integrated striker plate.

***This Lock may require some rework on the Door frame to take advantage of the frame striker assembly.

This lock requires a 1" bolt hole (Standard in North America)

This lock is adjustable for 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" backsets (Standard in North America)

The modifications are not difficult for most DIY types. However tools such as a hole saw, chisel, and power drill will be required. If you do not feel confident in these activities the original deadbolt in the grade 3 hardware may be a better choice for you. A local locksmith can always assist in the installation as well.
