The Bowley Lock ROTASERA Grade 2 Double Deadbolt Package comes with upgraded heavy duty components and is suitable for those customers who want extra protection against destructive attacks. The deadbolt is a higher grade bolt with an integrated striker plate. The exterior cylinder housing is cast out of solid metal and come with large shields to protect against "ice pick attacks". The exterior housing is independently retained by 2 extra heavy duty screws which mount to an interior reinforcement plate to prevent the against "hammer attacks".
The internal lock cylinder does not use the Rotasera cylinder, it is supplied with a Pamex 6 pin tumbler lock. Double Deadbolts are illegal in some jurisdictions on egress doors because the added risk of getting out of a building in an emergency such as a fire is too high. Our Rotasera core, on top of needing the key in an emergency also requires some special knowledge on how to use it and as such is not suitable for the interior locking cylinder. In general these locks are used to stop criminals from reaching in through a broken window and operating the thumb turn. The Pamex 6 pin core provides that function while maintaining normal operating procedures and easy key replacement at any local hardware store.
